One of the initial applications for the Synergy V8 has been intensely competitive speedway racing. This is a methanol fuelled application, with a direct drive system to the rear axle, no clutch, gearbox or flywheel are used, placing unique demands on the engine.
Key requirements for success in speedway racing are a high power output, an extremely broad flat torque curve, light weight and very linear and predictable throttle response.
The Synergy V8 has proven success in this area from ¼ to ½ mile tracks, including major race and national title wins in New Zealand and Australia, also with numerous fastest laps recorded.
Latest developments to exhaust and intake system design in 2009 have created class leading performance over the complete range of dirt speedway racetrack sizes and surfaces.
