Gearbox Systems

A custom-designed 6-speed sequential gearbox is undergoing development for front engine, rear wheel drive applications.  This is a replacement competition gearbox to suit many engines up to 250ft/lbs of torque.

This features dog engagement, 6 forward gears, 1 reverse gear. Overall drive ratios for the gearbox can be modified to optimise for different applications.

Shifter location is adjustable across a range of alternate positions.

A gear position potentiometer is fitted for interface with engine control units or data logging systems.

Optional features include an internal oil circulation pump and external oil cooler ports for very high performance applications

This gearbox has its first application in the Hyper Cars DSN 390 sports car.

Input shaft is standard 1”-23 spline, (Ford, Mitsubishi) although other input shaft styles are available on special request.

The front flange on the gearbox can be optioned to emulate popular RWD gearboxes, ie Ford T5, Toyota W series, so as to use existing bell-housing castings or retrofit this gearbox to existing engine / chassis installations.

The gearbox is supplied with low profile AP hydraulic clutch release bearing.


Optionally, for use with the Synergy V8 Engine a suitable bell-housing is supplied with the gearbox.
